Devious Journal Entry

Tue Jan 20, 2009, 1:21 PM
A lot of things have happened in the last year and I almost feel born again. After a couple of years of stagnation (good in some ways but pretty bad in many others) I have had a year of change.

And I with that came also a new interest in photography (and a new camera, an Olympus e510, a very cheap and not really that good camera, but good enough for me). In the fall I found a new style in my photos where I moved from very cold images to very warm. Some of the new photos are deliberately pretty ' pulp' in their style to capture the kind of images found in roleplaying rulebooks :)

Music have always been an important inspiration for me - in the summer I listened to a lot of Death in June resulting in an intrest in darker themes and I recently picked up my old and very beloved records with The Tear Garden and Edward Ka-Spel which have made me make a coupe of dream images. But the main inspiration for my new images is the writings of HP Lovecraft.

So, after a pretty long break from Deviant I have now uploaded some new photos (including in scraps).

Thank you so much! The avatar was really quite simple, I just used a camcorder to capture the movement and then used screenshots which I animated in a program =)

I'm down here all alone, but as happy as a king - at least, as happy as some kings - at any rate, I should think I'm about as happy as King Charles the First when he was in prison. (The Letters of Lewis Carroll)
